It's all in the Mind

A few days back while watching Para Olympics Vineesh asked  "How did he manage to swim with a single hand ?

I told him " Its all in the mind Vineesh " , if you feel you can do something you can .

Vineesh has just learnt front stroke swimming  a few months back . When Vishal's not around  I am not too confident of handling him in deep ( 5 feet+)  alone so I prefer him being on the shallow side . 

Since, its a new thrill he loves moving towards the deep and every time he does that my heart beats and and a in loud voice I say " Come back to the shallow side"  . 

Vineesh turns around and says Mom u are a "SCARY CAT" . I smiled and said you have just learnt it so I think when I feel u are ready to go in deep I will let you . The reply was 

" Its all your mind mom" , if you feel you can do something you can . 

Vineesh is ready for new challenges but  I will always be the

                      " The Scary Cat " .

I am not sure when I feel he is ready to be in there all alone but he is . 

Numbers -Story narrated by Vineesh

I am happy after a long time I have again started creative story telling . It's a mixed bag sometimes we are adding steps that lead us to the giant or sometimes we are reciting tables and sometimes we are just simply playing games and making funny faces and noise .

I am really happy i did it because today Vineesh told me a story .

Numbers 

He begins, It's a small story .

One day the numbers from 1 to Infinity were running in a race . He actually used Infinity :) .

1 stood first and 2nd came second and so on and so forth . That's how they got  their places in Maths .

then came the turn of zero and he felt his story would change if zero is first .

Zero cheated he stood there , if he dint run he would anyways be first .

 

Somebody who did nothing got it's value of nothing .

The Perfect Day

The Perfect Day

Few days ago ..........



We were watching Om Shanti Om and there he starts with his questions . Mom , how can Sharuk Khan be born again . Then I just explained him the concept of rebirth and then the conversation turned into good and bad , heaven and hell in context with the characters . I just happened to give him some worldly gyan . We are reborn 7 times ( the whole saath janamo wala thing ) . I found it weird myself talking to him like this but it was all on a casual mode .

Children remember what they have to . If I tell Vineesh u have to brush ur teeth every day . He may skip it but if I promise him a cookie for his good work. He could keep reminding me the same to eternity .

The Perfect day 


Vineesh woke up with a smile .
Went to school smile .
Home with a smile .
Finished his work like a superman .
Obeyed me like how Lord  Ganesh obeyed his mother .
To my surprise Vineesh ate food like Chota Bheem .

Usually when the whole day is so perfect u start wondering hope it ends well too .

We were just  about to sleep after out story telling session . As  I stepped  out of his room . He gets up walks to me at the door . I thought here goes the perfect day . I assumed he wanted to sleep in our room .  Just  before I could tell him Vineesh u have to sleep in ur room . He just  hugged  me and said  mom  I wish that in all my seven lives I get u as my mother.

He touched my soul.

I just hugged him back and held him in my arms till he decided to go back on his bed and sleep .

We usually blame the children for not having a good day . I just thought if I would have started speaking before I heard him then it would have no longer been a perfect day .

So , Yes I am trying my best to hear out to Vineesh before I assume things . 


Hope to have much more perfect days .
